Professional background

Having sought the therapeutic properties of acupuncture herself for a debilitating lower back condition, Joanna was inspired to become an acupuncturist.

Joanna studied acupuncture at the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, completing a Licentiate in Acupuncture (Lic Ac) and a BSc degree in acupuncture validated by Kingston University.

Joanna practises an integrated style of acupuncture which comprises of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture. This integrated approach allows her to treat a wide range of symptoms affecting the mind, body and spirit. Patients come with a wide range of issues including musculoskeletal conditions, headaches, respiratory conditions, digestion, fatigue, insomnia, gynaecological and menopausal issues, infertility and mental health conditions. In addition to using acupuncture needles, Joanna is also trained in cupping therapy, moxibustion and gua sha and uses these where appropriate as part of treatment. She also offers lifestyle advice including diet and exercise to support and enhance treatment.

Joanna is a member of The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the UK’s leading self-regulatory body for the practice of traditional acupuncture and adheres to their strict codes of professional conduct and safe practice.

Joanna is committed to continuing professional development and is currently undertaking a post graduate course in gynaecology, fertility and obstetrics.
